What is Yoga

Yoga is a health science developed by Indian sages and practiced in India for thousands of years. It is much broader in breadth than just physical postures or exercises, and it offers tools and techniques to break negative patterns to reach positive HEALTH. Yoga can easily be learned and added to an individual’s daily routine, regardless of race, religion, or physical ability, in enhancing one’s true inner power and overall well-being.

“Yoga has been defined by Sage Patanjali as a skillful science of gaining Mastery over Mind.”

In yoga practices, the doer is attained, bringing us closer to OUR TRUE NATURE. In this positive state of Health, potential pain and suffering can be overcome, and our true nature illuminates when ignorance is destroyed.

The Philosophy of Yoga: Mind, body, and spirit are all one that cannot be separated. By paying closer attention to the Yamas and Niyamas, one can achieve the path to liberation and end suffering.

Holistic Yoga Therapy

Yoga therapy is a holistic therapy that empowers individuals towards improving Health and well-being. It incorporates the whole body (mind, body, and spirit), bringing awareness through specific postures, breathing exercises, and relaxation techniques to the needs of people with specific or chronic health problems. It brings a unique contribution to modern healthcare. Depending upon the nature of the condition, Yoga therapy can not only be preventative but helps manage the disease to promote healing in an individual at all levels and walks of life.

The therapy helps to correct the alignment in Asana Practices that contribute to imbalance in the flow of Prana.

When the whole system is in balance, the sympathetic nervous system is under control, and the Prana flows freely; in this relaxed state( Homeostasis), the body can activate the self-repair system, without any obstruction, of what was out of balance.

I am trained to create sequences to help treat all kind of diseases at the root of the problem by attaining physical, spiritual, psychological, and physiological goals.

“Start your journey today”

Here at Mila’s Yoga Studio, we offer various tools and techniques that will teach you the benefits of Yoga at the physical level, prana level, intellectual level, and emotional levels so that you can be able to live in harmony with your surrounding.

Yoga is a health science, which can easily be integrated into our daily life and can be learned by anyone regardless of physical ability, from age 7 onwards.

The role of Yoga is to bring transformation and achieve good health in our modern life. Yoga is much deeper than just physical postures or exercise. We bring you the timeless experience of Yoga, through practiced focus on discipline (Abhyasa), letting go (Vairagya) and cultivating the mind to move towards harmony, peace and happiness. You will use your breath to move into each and every stage.

I am here to teach and support you on your path of self-discovery, through Yoga and self-help.

Here are some of the practices we cover:

Asana practices:

Here the focus is on synchronizing the breath with the movement of the physical body. You build strength, mobility, stamina and your flexibility. I’ll guide you how to connect to your body, and in this connection, how to increase your energy and focus.

Pranayama practices:

You will learn to use your own breath to develop the dynamic practice and gain control over your own energies, manage your emotions and improve your concentration by removing the imbalances of Prana which are the cause of most of the ailments.

Meditation:

You will learn focusing (Dharana) and defocusing- meditation (Dhyana). These classes help you develop a well-rounded practice. You’ll experience the fundamental principles of yielding, activation of your core, the flow state, release and renew and presence. As you develop within these classes, you’ll experience the personal qualities of stillness, radiance, personal power, joy and truth, insight, lightness and a blissful state of mind.

Weekly Pranayama group classes are for those who have practiced breathwork and want to detoxify and balance their energies weekly.
